*Focus on relevance of UN SDG’s goals to Literature

‘NIBF 2023 has been an exceptional platform for authors to showcase their works, publishers to connect with readers, and literary enthusiasts to engage in meaningful conversations. The fourth day of the book fair brings together the ANA and the SDG Book Club, highlighting the crucial role of literature in national development and sustainable global goals’

THE fourth day of the Nigeria International Book Fair 2023 (NIBF 2023) promises to be an enriching experience with two significant events taking place. One of these events is the collaboration between the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and the book fair, presenting “Authors’ Groove” at Hall B. The event will feature a captivating panel discussion on the topic “The Place of Creative Writing in National Development.”

Renowned scholars and experts in the field of literature will grace the occasion as speakers. Dr. Promise Adelie from Mountain Top University and Dr. Charles Akwen from the University of Lagos, both esteemed academics with impressive contributions to the literary world, will share their valuable insights and expertise on the subject matter. Their presence guarantees a high-quality discourse on the intersection between creative writing and national development.

The panel discussion will be skillfully moderated by Olatunbosun Taofeek, a well-respected literary figure in Nigeria. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the Nigerian literary scene, Taofeek is well-suited to facilitate an engaging and fruitful conversation. He will ensure that the panelists and the audience have equal opportunities to contribute their perspectives and opinions, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Simultaneously, the SDG Book Club will organize a panel discussion at Hall B, bringing attention to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance to literature. This event aims to highlight the transformative power of books and storytelling in promoting sustainable development and social change. The SDG Book Club’s initiative aligns with the global efforts to create a more equitable and sustainable future.

In addition to the thought-provoking discussions at Hall B, the last day of the book exhibition will take place at Hall A. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to explore a wide range of books, engage with publishers and authors, and discover new literary treasures. The book exhibition has been a central feature of NIBF 2023, providing a platform for literary enthusiasts, professionals, and the general public to connect and immerse themselves in the world of books.

Moreover, at Hall A, there will be a Parents & Children Funfair, creating a joyful and interactive space for families. This event aims to promote literacy and a love for reading among children and their parents. It will feature storytelling sessions, book-related games, and other engaging activities designed to ignite the imagination of young minds.

NIBF 2023 has been an exceptional platform for authors to showcase their works, publishers to connect with readers, and literary enthusiasts to engage in meaningful conversations. The fourth day of the book fair brings together the ANA and the SDG Book Club, highlighting the crucial role of literature in national development and sustainable global goals.

As the final day of the book exhibition and the day of captivating panel discussions, it promises to be an eventful day filled with intellectual stimulation and literary exploration. NIBF 2023 Day 4 at Hall A and Hall B is set to leave a lasting impact on attendees, inspiring them to appreciate the power of literature and its capacity to drive positive change in society.
