Rick Grant Turns Professional Development and HR Expertise into Touching Children’s Book Set for Exhibit at Printers Row Lit Fest 2024

The Printers Row Lit Fest (PRLF) is a commemoration of Chicago’s publishing legacy, as well as American literature in general. Much like the old printing houses of the city’s past, the event brings together the works of authors from all across the U.S. and even those from several international publishers.

Many of these authors see the PRLF as an exciting opportunity to not only tell a story but also do so in a variety of novel ways. A good example is Rick Grant, a motivational speaker, management expert, and dedicated community builder who is currently serving as the Strategic Advisor for the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority.

Most would assume people with Grant’s resume to be authors of self-help books. Yet, in his case, he has actually published four children’s books, one of which will be exhibited at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest.

Its is simply “When I Grow Up,” a book about choosing careers while also teaching the age-old lesson of following one’s heart when doing so.

It is a lesson many are undoubtedly familiar with, but Grant has had enough professional expertise to confirm just how true it is in his own work experience. Not only does he have a Master of Public Administration degree, he also has another in Philosophy of Management. He’s also a senior certified human resource professional who has spent years in coaching and public speaking. These experiences inform his writing and he hopes to convey just how deeply profound such really simple truths are in his children’s books.

Visitors to this year’s Printers Row Lit Fest can check out “When I Grow Up” on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit. The book event is scheduled for September 7-8, 2024, at Printers Row Park, 620 S Dearborn St (Ida B Wells & Polk), Chicago, Illinois. The book is available on Rick Grant’s website at https://rickssgrant.com/.
