Kaleb Cooper announces new book It’s A Farming Thing

Famous farmer Kaleb Cooper has announced that he’s publishing his third book this October 2024, promising to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at what life is really like on the farm.

The Clarkson’s Farm star has already published two books — one of which became an instant Sunday Times bestseller; undertaken a nationwide theatre tour; and even released a music video for his charity single ‘I Can’t Stand Sheep’.

His third book, It’s A Farming Thing, showcases his passion for his profession and shares the highs and lows of life on the farm, from ‘temperamental tractors’ to ‘cantankerous cows’, in Kaleb’s loveable and down-to-earth style, full of deadpan humour and unique observations.

In a quote from the new book, Kaleb said: ‘A lot of those old sayings, ‘Red sky at night…’ and so on, are based on real knowledge. Not that red sky at night really does mean shepherd’s delight — the only thing that’s ever going to delight a shepherd is changing their job and not having to work with sheep any more.’

But despite its challenges, he also explains why he thinks that farming is still the best job in the world.

Having been working on a farm since he was at school, Kaleb plays a central advisory role to Jeremy Clarkson as part of his hit Prime Video series — and has launched an agricultural bursary through the Royal Agricultural University, to support the next generation of farmers.

And despite his forays into pop music, his feet are still very firmly rooted on his beloved Cotswold farm.

It’s A Farming Thing is due to be released on Thursday 24 October 2024 costing £20 for the hardback.
