The Bookseller – Rights – Renard Press buys S C Flynn’s nature-themed debut poetry collection

Renard Press has acquired to S C Flynn’s debut, nature-focused poetry collection, The Colour of Extinction.

Publisher Will Dady bought world English rights from the author direct and the book will be published on 9th October 2024.

“The Colour of Extinction is a collection for our times: taking all of nature into its focus, these carefully crafted lines leave the reader mulling over our interaction with – and overuse of – the natural world,” the synopsis says. “Split into four strands, focusing on the climate crisis, birds, Australia and the melting polar caps, The Colour of Extinction forces us to confront the possible futures of the planet that we are destroying yet are so reliant on,” it adds.

“In today’s context, with the climate crisis and extinction events very much at the front of many readers’ minds, a collection that celebrates the bounty of nature and warns against overusing her resources is absolutely vital, and this is a compelling, beautiful and thought-provoking read,” the synopsis says. “On another note, as a climate-positive press, sustainability is something we feel incredibly passionate about, so in many ways it feels like Renard is the perfect home for The Colour of Extinction.”
