Still slippy – Irvine Welsh on his new book Resolution

30 years ago, Scotish author Irvine Welsh brought us junkies Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie in his classic novel Trainspotting.

In Welsh’s new novel, Resolution – the final installment in a trilogy of crime novels – his latest anti-hero, Ray Lennox, seems to be getting his life together. He has left the police force, and moved down south to Brighton, he has embraced a healthy lifestyle, got a stress-free job and has a new girlfriend.

The plan is going well until a monster from his past turns up…

The author talks Resolution to RTÉ Arena above.
