Philadelphia native Susan Muaddi Darraj’s latest is billed as her debut novel, but as a set of closely intertwined short stories, it is constructed in a very similar way to her previously acclaimed books, The Inheritance of Exile and A Curious Land.
In Behind You is the Sea, Muaddi Darraj returns to familiar territory, the experience of Palestinian migration to the US and in particular, the experiences of second-generation Palestinian-Americans.
