Prince William, King Charles clashed over helicopter use for Kate Middleton: book

King Charles and Prince William furiously clashed over the safety of the royal family flying in a helicopter, a new book has claimed.

According to royal correspondent and author Robert Jobson, the monarch, 75, “raised concerns” with the Prince of Wales, 42, over his helicopter use with Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — resulting in a heated exchange between the pair.

In an excerpt from his upcoming book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” obtained by the Daily Mail, Charles put his foot down on the family’s use of helicopters, citing safety issues as the reason for his concern.

Jobson claims that the king even presented William — the heir to the throne — with “a formal document acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.”

The king’s concerns seemingly echoed those of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who previously warned William against traveling via helicopter from Kensington Palace to his former residence of Anmer Hall in Norfolk, Jobson notes.

The late monarch, who died in September 2022, “didn’t hold back” on her opinion, which was solidified following the 1967 helicopter crash that killed her flight captain.

The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.

Elsewhere in the book, Jobson praised William’s wife for having a “stabilizing influence” on her husband, specifically when it comes to his relationship with his cancer-stricken father.

A source told Jobson that the Princess of Wales “is somebody who always tries to see both sides of any dispute,” adding that Middleton, 42, is the “emotionally mature” one of the two.

“I think the [king] understands Catherine is a good influence on the entire family. He loves and truly appreciates everything she does,” a palace source told the author.

Jobson also noted that Charles made a conscious decision to “put work first” when his children were young, adding that it’s something William and Kate will never do with their own children.

William “doesn’t blame either of his parents” for his problems, Jobson wrote — in fact, the prince respects his dad’s dedication.

However, he “feels the fact his father put work first had a detrimental impact on him when he was growing up and didn’t help their father/son relationship,” an insider told Jobson.

“Catherine, the Princess of Wales” will be released on Aug. 6.
