Melania Trump announces new book – people all say same thing | US | News

Melania Trump has announced plans to release a memoir – and people are all saying the same thing.

The eponymous book is set to hit shelves in the autumn and comes as her husband, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, gears up for this year’s US elections. The book is being published by Skyhorse Publishing and promises to be “a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence.”

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the one-time First Lady shared a video of the book’s cover – which is plain white, save for the word ‘Melania’ written in all capitals in black – followed by a call to pre-order the release ‘exclusively’ from her website. She captioned the clip: “May your experience reading my book be as enjoyable as the writing process was for me.”

People flocked to comment on the news and made reference to an infamous speech she made at the 2016 Republican National Convention where people accused her of ‘plagiarising’ Michelle Obama. One joked: “First line of the book: ‘I was born a poor black child on the south side of Chicago,'” in reference to Obama’s upbringing.

Another joked: “Melania Trump is coming out with a new book, written by her speech writers – the famed team: Copy & Paste.”

However, not everyone was so scathing and some people said they were excited to read the new release. One person wrote: “Can’t wait to read!” while another agreed: “I just ordered! I can’t wait to read it! You are such a positive role model!”

Meanwhile a third chimed in: “Will get this one for sure. Thank you for everything Melania!”

A specific release date for the memoir was not revealed when the book was announced on Thursday (July 25). However, it comes as husband Donald continues to campaign for his second term as president of the United States.

Earlier this month, the couple attended this year’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just days after Trump survived an assassination attempt.

Addressing the room, he said: “I am not supposed to be here tonight. I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God.

“And watching the reports over the last few days, many people say it was a providential moment. Probably was.”

However, political enthusiasts noticed a rather awkward moment between the Republican nominee and his spouse, the Express previously reported. Posting to X (formerly Twitter), one shared a video of the couple in an awkward embrace, and as Trump appeared to lean in for a kiss, it looked as though he had been publicly snubbed by his partner – who instead gave him a peck on the cheek.

They captioned the clip: “YIKES! Melania Trump completely DODGED Trump’s kiss at the end of his RNC speech. Super awkward moment!”
