The Sims 4: How to Write Bestsellers

Writing is just one way Sims can earn money in The Sims 4. Additionally, the Writing skill is used in several different careers or can be used as a creative outlet for Sims who enjoy it. Sims will write different quality books depending on their skill level, and occasionally, they will write a bestseller.

Bestsellers are high quality and worth more than standard books in The Sims 4. Sims must write these to complete the Bestselling Author Aspiration and make a decent living from writing. While bestsellers are rare, they’re attainable under the right circumstances.

How to Write Bestsellers in the Sims 4

The Sims 4

Bestsellers are the highest quality of writing an author can have in The Sims 4. Before a Sim can write a bestseller, there are things that players can do to make it easier on them. Sims with the Bookworm, Genius, Perfectionist, and Creative traits will produce higher-quality works. Additionally, giving them the Bestselling Author Aspiration also means they will get the Muser bonus trait, which boosts their skills when Inspired.

The Sims 4

Sims usually write bestsellers at Writing level nine or higher. To increase their Writing skills, Sims must do the following:

  • Write books or Practice writing on a computer
  • Read Writing Skill books
  • Write in a Private Journal (Sims 4: Parenthood)

Being Inspired is the best mood to have when writing a bestseller. Sims can become Inspired in a few ways, but Taking a Thoughtful Shower, looking at art, watching specific TV channels, or enabling object moods are some of the easiest ways.

Sims can also purchase the Creative Visionary bonus trait from the Rewards store for 2,000 Satisfaction Points, which increases their chance of a Bestseller by 20%. Of course, writing a Bestseller is mainly determined by luck, even with all of these helpful factors.

The quickest way is to write on a computer, and if Sims write complete novels, plays, or short stories, they can earn royalties for their hard work. Joining the Writer career will also help them make money as they perfect their craft. Sims can self-publish or sell to a publisher by clicking on a mailbox.

Whenever Sims hit Writing level nine, they will unlock the option to Submit to Literary Digest when they go to publish a book. Books can only be submitted to Literary Digest once a week, but consistently doing so brings in the big bucks.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
