Falak Book Store in Cairo

In a tranquil neighborhood in Garden city, near downtown, where the European architecture style caught the facades all around the streets, there’s Falak, an Arabic word that means Astronomy. It’s the perfect word to describe the atmosphere there, another planet inside the heart of Cairo city. When I visited the place for the first time, “what wonderful stuff!” Those were my words when I saw the products they sell. A whole room full of extraordinary stuff, starting from the leather notebooks and ending with African accessories.

The book store base has a cafe side with a street view over some huge old trees. The cafe, which has a variety of drinks, snacks and some main courses, is a really good place to spend some good time sharing the same spirit with some local readers and students who go there to study.

It’s really easy to find the place while walking through the quiet streets of Cairo, which I prefer, or you can also maybe take a cab and follow the map.
