Edinburgh restaurant group set to refurbish popular Italian venue into ‘Leith local’

A brand new ‘Leith local‘ is set to open in a busy area of Edinburgh following the refurbishment of a popular Italian restaurant.

Restaurant group, Vittoria, who run multiple restaurants across the city such as Taste of Italy, Bertie’s and Divino are set to open their new venture in replacement of their first venue in the capital, Vittoria on the walk, on Brunswick Street.

Brunswick Book Club is set to open during the spring months and will serve a range of local beers, cocktails, breakfast and comfort food. The group added that it’s a “special project” as it will be located at the venue that their ‘Nonno’ opened in 1970, however they stressed that Vittoria On The Walk will not be closing and is set to be relocated round the corner.

Making the announcement on social media, Vittoria Group Restaurant Director, Leandro Crolla, said: “Very excited to announce another new and exciting opening this Spring. Brunswick Book Club.

“We are refurbishing our first venue Vittoria On The Walk on Brunswick Street aiming to open a Leith local, serving great and local beers, cocktails, breakfast and amazing comfort food.

“Vittoria On The Walk is NOT going, instead it will be re-located on the Brunswick Road corner (10 second walk) and will have a brand new refreshing look.

“This is a very special project as it is the venue our Nonno opened in 1970 so we need to make him proud.”

The restaurant group also added on Facebook regarding the new location of Vittoria On The Walk: “You are probably wondering what’s going on with your beloved Vittoria on The Walk. We are getting a well deserved make-over.

“Don’t worry our menu is staying the same and so will the team, however the biggest change is the entrance will be on the opposite corner on Brunswick Road.
