Rallying Nations Towards Sustainable Energy: Yonnas Kefle's

May 31, 2024 – New York – Following its recent launch, “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations” by economist and author Yonnas Kefle has inspired readers worldwide with its insightful examination of energy, economics, and the environment. From the halls of academia to the corridors of power, Dr. Kefle’s book has sparked a vital conversation on the future of our planet.

In “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations,” Dr. Kefle addresses the alarming depletion of our energy resources, making a compelling case for transitioning to sustainable practices. Leveraging his extensive experience as an economist and diplomat, Kefle provides a roadmap for understanding the intricate connections between thermodynamic principles, energy, climate policy, and global cooperation.

“The response to the book has been overwhelming,” says Kefle. “It’s clear that there is a growing recognition of the need for change in how we approach energy production and consumption.”

Readers have praised the book for its clarity, depth, and timely message. From policymakers seeking solutions to concerned citizens eager to make a difference, “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations” is empowering individuals around the world to act.

“I feel inspired and informed after reading this book,” says one reader. “It’s a must-read for anyone passionate about creating a more sustainable future.”

Considering the issues posed by climate change and energy security, “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations” offers hope and a call to action for the international community.

About the Author:

Yonnas Kefle, an economist and former U.S. diplomat, brings a wealth of experience to his book, “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations.” Originally from Africa, Kefle pursued his education across Europe and the United States, culminating in a Ph.D. in Economics from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Kefle is also the author of the book “Accidental American.”

His professional journey includes roles as an economist at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics and later as a diplomat in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. During this period, Kefle witnessed the severe impacts of global warming in the Caribbean, reigniting his childhood dream of providing electricity to rural communities that depended heavily on basic energy sources such as iron ore, charcoal, and kerosene.

His motivation for writing “Energy and the Political Economy of Nations” stems from a desire to highlight the ramifications of unrestrained energy consumption on national economies and humanity’s destiny. As fossil fuel-based energy dwindles and environmental repercussions intensify, Kefle’s book acts as a timely call to action for a sustainable future.
