Third Space, an evening of Poetry from the South Asian anthology Third Space
Gibberd Gallery, Civic Centre
Thursday 1 August 6.30pm – 8.30pm
JOIN them for the much-anticipated launch of the Third Space Poetry Festival at the Gibberd Gallery in Harlow!
British South Asian poetry is flourishing throughout the UK, but it is still not being amply reflected in mainstream publishing, on poetry courses or through poetry societies. Third Space was set up by poet and artist Suman Gujral with an eye on filling this gap. In collaboration with the award-winning independent publisher Renard Press, an open call for submissions went out in April 2024, working towards the publication of a ground-breaking volume of South Asian poetry.
We are delighted to welcome you to an evening of poetry readings, music and camaraderie that promises to be absolutely unforgettable. A real celebration of South Asia, an array of South Asian delights will be provided, including samosas, pakoras, chicken skewers, mango lassi and Indian sweets. The evening is being hosted by BBC Three Counties presenter, Farzana Chaudry.
