Kochi: After much anticipation, an anthology series of nine films, starring Malayalam legends Mammootty and Mohanlal, scripted by literary stalwart MT Vasudevan Nair, is set for release. The trailer launch for the films, which will be available on the Zee 5 OTT platform during the Onam season, will take place in Kochi on MT’s birthday, July 15.
Anthology and Films
Titled ‘Manoradhangal’ by MT, this anthology will be available on OTT as individual films. Mohanlal stars in ‘Olavum Theeravum,’ directed by Priyadarshan, who also directs ‘Shilalikhitham’ starring Biju Menon. Ranjith directs ‘Kadugannawa Oru Yathrakkurippu,’ an autobiographical account of MT, starring Mammootty.
Mahesh Narayanan and Fahadh Faasil collaborate on the adaptation of the popular short story ‘Sherlock.’ Siddique stars in ‘Abhayam Thedi Veendum,’ directed by Santhosh Sivan, while Jayaraj directs ‘Swargam Thurakkunna Samayam,’ featuring Nedumudi Venu, Surabhi, and Indrans. Parvathy Thiruvoth stars in ‘Kazhcha,’ directed by Shyama Prasad. ‘Kadalkkaattu,’ starring Rathish Ambat with Indrajith and Aparna Balamurali, and MT’s daughter Aswathi’s directorial debut ‘Vilpana,’ featuring Asif Ali and Madhubala, complete the ensemble.
