
The Boone County Public Library is offering teens an opportunity to participate in a short story contest in celebration of November being designated National Novel Writing Month.
Entrants must be a current student between grades six and 12. Work that has been previously published or submitted elsewhere is permitted. The short story must be 1,000 to 2,000 words and must be created by the entrant and be an original work, according to the contest entry form.
Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 30 and the winner will receive a Barnes & Noble gift card, officials said.
