What’s happening at the Library in Owen Sound? There are plenty of fun and interesting programs and activities in the works, many free to the public and some requiring registration or a small fee.

Check out your options below and see what’s coming up for children, youth, and adults of all ages.

The Library is hosting an author fair and we are looking for authors with a Grey or Bruce County connection to showcase their books. 

The fair will run from Friday, October 18 to Saturday, October 19th. The two-day celebration will take place throughout the library building. 

If you are a local author or have a novel set in Grey or Bruce County, please fill out an author application form by August 9, 2024. Find the form at: www.osngupl.ca/osngupl-local-author-book-fair/ 

Wednesday, July 10, 7:00pm 
Interested in participating in a book club? Read Four Bullets, Four Witnesses, Four Liars by Brian Barrie and then join Tim for a book chat. Registration required.

Saturday, July 13 *2nd Saturday of each month, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Skilled volunteers are eager to fix your broken items for free, from clothing to household items. Enjoy refreshments, connect with your community, and save money while keeping items out of landfills. 
In partnership with the Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team

Tuesdays, July 16, August 20 from 2:00-3:30 pm
Gardening Demo: 2:00 pm Drop-in Advice Clinic: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Come visit our Gardener in Residence program presented by the Grey County Master Gardeners! Registration suggested for Gardening Demo.

Drop in to browse and buy on Thursday, July 18, 2:00pm – 7:30pm & Friday, July 19, 10:00am-4:00pm. Nearly new, used paperbacks, fiction, non-fiction, young adult, and children’s books, DVDs and specially priced items are available! Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted. Please help out by bringing your own shopping bags.

Pick up a bingo card from Youth Services or print from our website and start your reading adventure! Each completed activity enters you in a chance to win a weekly prize. Complete an entire line to be entered into the end of the summer prize draw.

Looking for something to do over the Summer Break? The Library has so much to do, including the TD Summer Reading Club, Wacky Wednesdays, and more! Click the button below to view the full schedule of programs. Registration required for most programs.

Join us for outdoor summertime early literacy and fun at Story Tent! Enjoy crafts, stories, songs, and activities. In the event of inclement weather, Story Tent will be in Youth Services. Ages 0 – 6. Drop-in.

Tuesday, July 16, 2:00-3:00 pm

Tickets $5.00 per person – available at the Circulation Desk
Discover the mind- bending geological tales of Alberta and why it’s the holy grail for dino discoveries. But that’s not all! Tim’s taking you on a crash course in fossilization magic – it’s an interactive journey into the heart of the past! Grades JK-6
