Young Tucson artists, authors to get book fest recognition



Arizona Daily Star

Budding Southern Arizona artists and authors will be recognized Saturday, March 9, as the winners of the Tucson Festival of Books’ Young Artists and Authors competitions.

Winners will receive $100 gift certificates sponsored by Altrusa International of Tucson and Friends of Western Art. The awards will be presented at 10 a.m. on the main entertainment stage near the Student Union on the UA campus.

The winners in the kindergarten through second-grade category are:

Adesina Barnett, first grade, Van Buskirk Elementary

Banyan Bradley, second grade, St. Michael’s School

Athena Doles, second grade, Huachuca City School

Katerina Honkonen, second grade, St. Michael’s School
