Jill Halfpenny to launch new book at The Biscuit Factory in Ouseburn

Jill Halfpenny will take a break from the filming of her latest TV drama as she launches her memoir in Newcastle.

Geordie actress Jill has been spotted in Heaton, Benton and Jarrow filming Channel 5’s the Feud in recent weeks, but will take advantage of a break in filming for a week-long tour to launch her memoir A Life Reimagined: My Journey of Hope in the Midst of Loss. The book sees Jill explore how she dealt with grief after the death of her father when she was just four, and her partner Matt, who had a cardiac arrest at a gym class and never came home.

The Strictly winner hopes to share what she discovered about and learned both about herself, and how we view grief as a society, to help readers feel like they can begin to move forward. On Monday, June 17, Forum Books will host an evening with Jill at the The Biscuit Factory in Ouseburn to launch the book during Independent Bookshop Week.

Helen Stanton, owner of event organisers Forum Books, said: “It’s so exciting to be working with Jill Halfpenny and her North East launch event for her new book A Life Reimagined. We will be at gorgeous new The Garden Room at The Biscuit Factory next Monday, June 17, to celebrate in style and hear Jill talk about her life – the highs – Strictly win! – as well as the lows of losing both her Dad and husband.

“Heartfelt and honest – its all set to be a memorable evening. She’s here during Independent Bookshop Week too, so it’s lovely to get her support!”

Jill will also take her book to Crossing the Tees Festival on Friday, June 21, before events in Wirral, Oswestry, and Carfest 2024 in Hampshire. For more information on tickets for Jill Halfpenny at the Biscuit Factory, click here.
