King Charles’ huge parenting error William won’t ever make

Oh, Pa!

King Charles made a decision to “put work first” when his children were young, a senior palace source has told royal correspondent Robert Jobson — and it’s something William and Kate will never do, the expert explained in his upcoming book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales.”

The heir to the throne “doesn’t blame either of his parents” for his problems, Jobson wrote in the Daily Mail — in fact, William respects his dad’s dedication. However, the Prince of Wales “feels the fact his father put work first had a detrimental impact on him when he was growing up and didn’t help their father/son relationship.”

The King’s choice to retreat “into the safe house of his work” left both Will and Harry feeling “a little lost and alone during childhood.”

As a result, William has made being a “hands-on dad” a high priority, all but showing off his close bond with son George, Jobson said. He “wants his three children to look back at their childhood with a feeling of being wrapped in love” — a goal said to be fully supported by Kate.

Jobson said that William now enjoys a close relationship with his dad — even more so since Harry decided to start “lobbing missles from California.”

And while William may have made a choice to pursue a different parenting style, Kate is said to have wanted to make it brutally clear to the Royals that she was always going to put her kids first.

The princess “insisted” on a full maternity leave, away from the prying eyes of the public.

According to Jobson, the Queen and Prince Charles were very receptive to her requests, made back in 2015 while pregnant with Charlotte.

“It turned out he was pushing against an open door,” Jobson wrote. “Princess Diana had repeatedly complained to the Queen that she always felt like an outsider, and the last thing the monarch wanted was for the pattern to repeat itself with Catherine.”
