New matches WWE can book for SummerSlam 2024

Alongside a stacked match card, WWE can still add some more in-ring matches to its PLE, SummerSlam.

Under Triple H’s new regime, WWE has been producing an array of successful Premium Live Events. The next stop for the global juggernaut is WWE SummerSlam, set to be hosted at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3rd.

Despite the PLE’s already-announced stacked match card, there is some time left before SummerSlam and WWE can still add more matches. Here are the top five matches that can be added to the WWE SummerSlam line-up before the PLE:

5. Judgment Day vs The Awesome Truth

WWE has often added hometown favorites to their PLEs, with one of them already being advertised for SummerSlam, i.e. The Miz. But The Awesome One is currently not scheduled for a match at The Biggest Party of the Summer. However, with SummerSlam still two weeks away, Miz and his tag team partner, R-Truth, could invoke their WWE World tag team title rematch at SummerSlam against the current champions, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, also not listed for any match so far.

4. WWE Women’s Tag Title Match – Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn vs Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn won the WWE Women’s tag team titles from Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at WWE Clash at the Castle PLE two months ago. In the weeks following that, the former champions have been advocating for their rematch. It can finally be made official for SummerSlam, marking Isla and Alba’s first title defense at a major event against Cargill and Belair to prove that their victory was no fluke and they deserve to be a big part of the women’s division.

3. DIY vs The Bloodline

The new WWE tag team champions, DIY, reigned supreme at the tag team division on SmackDown by dethroning former title holders, A-Town Down Under. However, they could find themselves challenged by the dominant Bloodline, should they win the upcoming No.1 contender tag team Gauntlet match and invoke their title shot against Tommaso Ciampa and Cleveland’s own Johnny Gargano.

2. Judgment Day vs The Usos

Another prime target that has come in the crosshairs of Judgment Day is Jey Uso, who has his eyes set on the stable’s Mami, Rhea Ripley. This week on RAW, the faction led a backstage attack on Uso, but he and Zayn managed to defeat Finn Balor and JD McDonagh in the main event. This could make Jey lay claim to a tag team title match against them and have his brother, Jimmy Uso, return at SummerSlam to be on his side once again.

1. Wyatt Sicks vs Chad Gable & Creed Brothers

The Wyatt Sicks have made Chad Gable their prime target ever since their first sighting in June 2024. However, Gable has finally recruited some backup in the form of The Creed Brothers. This could set the tone for the demonic faction’s first in-ring showdown, taking place at SummerSlam against Gable and his new allies.
