Others Specials

Reecha Agarwal Goyal, a bestselling author has come up with her new book – and this time, its a a crime thriller: ‘THE EYES OF A KILLER’. We tried to understand her love for two of these seemingly parallel genres of writing:

Q: What inspired you to pursue writing, and how did your journey begin?

A: I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, but it was a difficult period in my life that compelled me to start writing as a form of catharsis and self-expression.

Q: Can you share a significant obstacle you encountered along your path to success and how you overcame it?

A: Balancing motherhood and writing was challenging, but I learned to carve out dedicated time for my craft, even if it meant late nights or early mornings.

Q: How do you believe your unique experiences as a woman have shaped your writing style or the themes you explore in your work?

A: Being a woman has influenced my perspective on relationships, identity, and societal expectations, which often resonate in my stories through strong female characters and themes of empowerment.

Q: In what ways has your journey as a female author been empowering for you personally?

A: Embracing my voice and sharing stories that reflect the diverse experiences of women has been incredibly empowering, allowing me to connect with readers on a profound level.

Q: What advice would you offer to aspiring female authors who are navigating their own paths in the literary world?

A: Trust your intuition, don’t be afraid to tell your story authentically, and find a supportive community of fellow writers who uplift and inspire you along the way.

Q Your work spans across crime thrillers and poetry focused on women empowerment. How do you find a balance between these seemingly disparate genres, and what themes do you explore through your writing?

A Finding a balance between crime thrillers and poetry on women empowerment is both a challenge and a creative opportunity for me. While crime thrillers allow me to delve into the darker aspects of human nature and societal issues, poetry provides a more introspective and emotionally resonant avenue for exploring themes of empowerment and resilience. Through my writing, I aim to shine a light on the struggles and triumphs of women from all walks of life, whether they’re navigating the complexities of solving a crime or finding their voice through verse. Themes of justice, strength, and sisterhood are common threads that weave through both genres, allowing me to explore the multifaceted nature of women’s experiences in a way that is both compelling and cathartic.

Q How do you believe your poetry complements your crime thriller writing and vice versa?

A My poetry and crime thriller writing may seem like two different worlds, but in many ways, they are two sides of the same coin. Both explore themes of empowerment, justice, and resilience, albeit in different ways and through different mediums. My poetry provides a more intimate and introspective lens through which to examine these themes, while my crime thrillers offer a more expansive and action-packed exploration. Together, they form a holistic portrayal of the human experience, shining a light on the challenges and triumphs of women in a world that often seeks to silence or marginalize them. By weaving poetry and prose together, I hope to create a richer, more immersive reading experience that resonates with readers on a profound level.
