The Bookseller – News – Shoaib Rokadiya joins Atlantic

Shoaib Rokadiya is joining Atlantic Non-Fiction as associate publisher.

Rokadiya is returning to publishing after a 15-month career break. He replaces James Pulford who recently departed for Hutchinson Heinemann.

He has nine years of experience in publishing bestselling and prizewinning non-fiction at William Collins, Wildfire and Penguin Press.

Most recently he published Guy Shrubsole’s Sunday Times bestseller The Lost Rainforests of Britain, which was a joint-winner of the Wainwright Prize and a Waterstones’ Book of the Month, as well as Johny Pitts’ and Roger Robinson’s Home Is Not a Place, Michiko Kakutani’s Ex Libris and Nury Turkel’s No Escape, which won the Moore Prize for Human Rights Writing (all published by HarperCollins).

Authors he has previously worked with include Sarfraz Manzoor, Kim Ghattas, Elizabeth Hinton, Sayeeda Warsi and Grayson Perry.

Ed Faulkner, group non-fiction publisher, said: “I am thrilled that Shoaib has chosen to join us at this exciting time in the development of our non-fiction team. He brings with him real flair, an enviable track record of publishing quality and award-winning non-fiction as well as commercial acumen.  He will be a huge asset to Atlantic.”

Rokadiya said: “I was struck by Ed and Drummond [Moir]’s bold vision for the future of Atlantic Books from our first meeting. It’s a real privilege to be tasked with helping to shape what is already such a distinctive list. I can’t wait to get started.”

Rokadiya joins on Monday (15th July) and can be contacted at: shoaibrokadiya@atlantic-books.co.uk
