The Bookseller – News – Veronique Norton appointed non-fiction editorial director at Coronet

Veronique Norton will move from her current role as publicity director at Hodder & Stoughton to join the Coronet imprint as non-fiction editorial director, reporting to publisher Hannah Black.

Norton will buy narrative non-fiction and “some select” fiction for the list after starting in her new role on 10th June.

As publicity director, she has worked across narrative non-fiction, reading group fiction, memoir and humour titles, including Bob Odenkirk’s Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama (Coronet) and Jessie Ware’s Omelette (Coronet).

“I am thrilled to welcome Vero to the Coronet team,” Black said. “Her many years of experience in bringing our authors’ works to the public’s attention gives her a unique perspective on what makes a great book. Creative, empathetic, beloved by authors, journalists and agents and with the entrepreneurial flair intrinsic to Coronet’s identity and success, Vero will bring her great taste, clear understanding of the market and impeccable contacts. She will be key in the continued growth and development of Coronet as a destination imprint.”

Norton added: “I cannot wait to join Hannah, Tom and Anna as an editor at Coronet. I’ve long been a huge admirer of Hannah’s incredible editorial eye, leadership and perceptive, taste-making publishing. I’m really excited to be part of the Coronet team as it goes from strength to strength and continues its track record of backing bestsellers and creating unmissable publishing moments.”
