SINGAPORE – Indonesian-Chinese author Jesse Q. Sutanto turned her mother into the titular heroine of her latest novel, Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice For Murderers.
Over a Zoom call from Jakarta, the 37-year-old writer of Dial A For Aunties (2021) says: “She’s very happy about it and she thinks people need to know it’s based on her and that she should get credit.”
