Great Elephant Migration events planned at Rough Point in August

The Newport Restoration Foundation announced a schedule of community-centered events focused on The Great Elephant Migration: A Public Artwork by the Coexistence Collective, presented by Art&Newport, and curated by Dodie Kazanjian.

As a host for the Great Elephant Migration, NRF is delighted to welcome visitors to enjoy this unique contemporary art installation which has brought over 8,000 visitors to Rough Point since opening on July 2. This series of community events will bring even more fun and excitement to the Great Elephant Migration experience and give new opportunities for all visitors to appreciate this incredible and inspiring artwork.

“The goal of the Great Elephant Migration is to help advocate for co-existence and these community events are an opportunity for us to improve accessibility to Rough Point for our communities, embrace the co-existence of people, animals, and the environment, and to highlight the work of NRF and other partners who are helping to build community and provide vital services here on Aquidneck Island”, said NRF’s Director of Engagement and Presidential Initiatives Gina Tangorra.

Guests view the Great Elephant Migration on the lawn at Rough Point on July 4, 2024.
