  • O.O. Sangoyomi at Kindred Stories | Wednesday, July 10 | FREE – The Nigerian American author’s new novel, Masquerade, explores the true cost of one woman’s fight for freedom and self-discovery, and the lengths she’ll go to secure her future in 15th century West Africa. • Jessica Goudeau at Brazos Bookstore | Thursday, July 11 | FREE – When Goudeau, a seventh-generation Texan, began exploring her family’s history, she found the family’s relationship to Texas more complicated than she thought. From a swindling land grant agent in the early days of Anglo settlement that brought slavery to Mexican land, up through her Texas Ranger great-uncle, who helped a sociopathic sheriff cover up mass murder, Goudeau offers an eye-opening exploration of national and personal myths in We Were Illegal. Books for signing must be purchased from the store. 6:30pm.
