Used book sale for kids at the main library – Boulder Daily Camera


Paper & Spine Used Book Store is hosting a children’s used book sale at the main branch on Tuesday.

‘The Forgotten Coast’ film screening: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Fjällräven Boulder, 1048 Pearl St., Boulder. Inspired by over a decade of documenting Iceland’s glacial river systems and their intersection with the ocean from the seats of small aircraft, Chris Burkard sets out for an immersive expedition across 41 of these rivers — by connecting a series of exposed sandbars that provide a barrier between the harsh waters of the North Atlantic along Iceland’s southern coast, armed only with a fat bike and inflatable raft and accompanied by two seasoned bike-pack/rafting veterans, Steve “Doom” Fassbinder and Cameron Lawson. The film will screen again at 5 p.m. Thursday, $15, eventbrite.com.

Boulder Bike Show: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Upslope Brewing, 1898 S. Flatiron Court., Boulder. Head to Upslope Brewing in Flatiron Park for the return of the coveted Bike Show competition. Béla Fleck’s new collaboration at Chautauqua: As We Speak: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Chautauqua Auditorium, 198 Morning Glory Drive, Boulder. Banjo legend Béla Fleck teams up with tabla master Zakir Hussain and double-bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer to create an album, “As We Speak.” Watch them perform the songs live. $53-$63, 303-440-7666, chautauqua.com.

Will Hoge at Roots: 8 p.m. Tuesday, Roots Music Project, 4747 Pearl St., Suite V3A, Boulder. An intimate evening of Americana music with acclaimed singer-songwriter Will Hoge, alongside guest Dave Tamkin, $25-$180, rootsmusicproject.org.

Paper & Spine used book sale for kids: 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Boulder Public Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder. This is the final day for the Paper & Spine book sale at the library (located on the bridge between the children’s section and Seeds Library Cafe). All children’s books, intermediate readers, teen items, family and parenting items will be on sale for $1, calendar.boulderlibrary.org.
