Political Writer McKay Coppins Featured at Gaithersburg Book Festival

New York Times best-selling author McKay Coppins will discuss his book “Romney: A Reckoning”with Maryland State Delegate Marc Korman on Saturday, May 18, at the Gaithersburg Book Festival (GBF). Coppins works as a staff writer at The Atlantic, where he covers politics, religion, and national affairs.

Coppins’ book offers a candid portrayal of Senator Mitt Romney’s political journey, highlighting his rise within the Republican Party and the impact of his decisions amidst a changing political landscape. The book reveals the consequences of seemingly minor concessions by leaders, illustrating how these choices have contributed to a broader crisis in democracy while showcasing Romney’s redemption as he found his moral courage in a time of increasing fear and division in American society.

Gaithersburg Mayor and GBF creator Jud Ashman shares a brief review of Coppins’ latest book, “Romney: A Reckoning.”

Coppins presents at 3:15 p.m. in the James Michener Pavilion and will sign books at 4:15 p.m.

For a comprehensive schedule of author presentations, workshops, book signings, and more, visit the Gaithersburg Book Festival website.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival takes place Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue. Admission to the festival is free, with ample parking options available.
