Writer Daisy May Cooper launches her first ever podcast

Last updated May 11, 2023 – 5:00 pm

Educating Daisy with Daisy May Cooper is a new Audible Original series and is the writer’s first podcast.

She is one of Britain’s busiest writers but definitely not one of its keenest readers!  Although she’d love to read more it’s hard for her to find the time.

Across the series, Daisy invites six celebrity friends – Tim Key, Diane Morgan, Jamali Maddix, Nish Kumar, Katie Price and Alan Carr to try to change her mind by telling her all about their favourite book.

They tempt her with historical fiction, classic murder mysteries and graphic novels, but will anything persuade Daisy to put down her Take a Break magazine? It’s not going to be easy!

The first episode features poet, comedian and actor Tim Key who chooses a 19th Century comic classic often cited as the first sitcom character in literature. Daisy loves how the central character reminds her of Tim, and there’s pictures too! But is this Victorian masterpiece just too wordy to get on her “must-read” list?

Cunk on Earth’s Diane Morgan stays in the 19th century for episode two and Daisy’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks co-star Jamali Maddix chooses one of the most iconic graphic novels of the 1990s in episode three.

Episode four features Pod Save the UK and Mash Report host Nish Kumar who has a classic children’s book from one of the world’s most respected living authors.

For episode five, reality TV star, businesswoman and author Katie Price goes for a book she’s always loved – in fact she nearly named her daughter after one of the main characters.

Finally, in the sixth episode, comedian Alan Carr selects one of the ‘Four Queens of Crime’ – who’s sold 100 million copies of this book.

Educating Daisy is available on Audible.
