The first trailer of the upcoming Malayalam anthology series ‘Manorathangal’ was released on the birthday of Jnanpith Award-winning author and screenwriter-director MT Vasudevan Nair. Scripted by Nair, the series features a stellar cast, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kamal Haasan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Madhoo, among others.
The trailer opens with actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan offering a glimpse into the legacy of the renowned writer MT. As the one minute forty-six-second trailer unfolds, viewers are treated to snippets from the various segments of the series. These segments boast a diverse cast, including Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil, among others.
It becomes clear throughout the promo that each story is unique, set in a distinct time period and location. While Mohanlal’s segment is presented in classic black-and-white, Mammootty’s appears to be a more intense affair.

‘Manorathangal’ is an anthology consisting of nine different episodes based on Nair’s short stories. Priyadarshan directs two episodes, while Shyamaprasad, Aswathy V Nair, Mahesh Narayanan, Ranjith, Santosh Sivan, and Rathish Ambat are the other filmmakers.
Besides, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kamal Haasan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Madhoo, ‘Manorathangal’ also features Biju Menon, Ishit Yamimi, Aparna Balamurali, Nadhiya Moidu, Ann Augustine, Durga Krishna, Asif Ali, Indrajith Sukumaran, Indrans and Siddique.
It releases on Zee5 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi on August 15.
