A photograph of the Gruber family appears in “A Place I Called Home: The Gruber Wagon Works” by Beth L. Hartman. In the book, the author tells the story of her father-in-law, Edward Gruber Hartman, one of the last of the family to remember when the factory was still working. It was moved to the Berks County Heritage Center to make way for Blue Marsh Lake.

The Exeter School District will hold a community forum Monday at 7 p.m. at Reiffton School, 4355 Dunham Drive.

The forum will include information on PA School Works, a nonpartisan campaign to ensure that all schools in the state are adequately and equitably funded; Act 44, which, among other things, provides for enhanced school safety and security; and other topics pertinent to the district and its schools.

The forum will provide an opportunity for district residents to ask questions of administrators and school board members and to comment.
