Bray journalist and author PJ Cunningham will be MC on the night of the launch of Ciarán Byrne’s book Oh Brother: Memories of a Juniorate Journey.
Ballinaclash resident Ciarán Byrne is launching his book Oh Brother: Memories of a Juniorate Journey.
It is a local and social history with a personal dimension. The book documents the process by which religious orders in Ireland recruited new members, and in this case it focuses on the Irish Christian Brothers. This delicate subject is dealt with in a sensitive manner and describes a way of life that seems so alien to the Ireland of the twenty-first century. It’s a case of L.P Hartley’s “The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there”.
The launch will take place on Thursday, June 20 at 7pm in the Blackrock Education Centre Kill Avenue A96 EW01 (on the grounds of IADT campus).
MC on the night is well known Bray resident, journalist, author and columnist PJ Cunningham.
