Brown Books Publishing Group Releases New Book on Sinus Care and Surgery by Dr. Reuben Setliff, Winner of the FIERO Award for Innovation, Education and Research in Otorhinolaryngology

DALLAS, June 18, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In Let’s Clear Things Up: The Truth About Sinus Surgery (Brown Books Publishing Group; published June 18, 2024), sinus specialist and retired otolaryngologist Dr. Reuben Setliff III seeks to empower patients by educating them on the reality of modern sinus care and surgery.

With accessible, uncomplicated language informed by his extensive medical background, Dr. Setliff explains that while the industry at large has shifted to improved techniques, sinus professionals continue to utilize highly invasive procedures. He walks readers through the history of sinus surgery, sharing his newfound non-invasive techniques and emphasizing that more extreme techniques, “in the vast majority of sinus cases, are simply not necessary.”

Dr. Setliff elaborates that the instructions and details for his approach are specific enough for other surgeons to easily implement and replicate. He provides a wealth of information, including common complaints, sinus struggles and the best — and least damaging — route to solve them. He additionally offers suggestions of nonmedical alternatives related to at-home techniques and diet choices which can aid a patient on their sinus-health journey.

Let’s Clear Things Up is the culmination of a conscientious surgeon’s life’s work. For Dr. Setliff, putting patients before practice is his priority. This book helps individuals to know their options and make the most informed decision possible when it comes to sinus procedures. Dr. Setliff himself says it best: “A well-informed patient is an empowered patient.”

Dr. Reuben Setliff III is board-certified in the care of patients with ear, nose and throat complaints. However, the last twenty years of his medical practice were limited exclusively to the care of patients with nasal and sinus complaints. During that time, he also pursued the goal of delivering increasingly effective and minimally invasive medical and surgical solutions for sinus sufferers. What followed were multiple innovative breakthroughs in sinus care and surgical procedures, instruments and techniques, leading to national and international recognition. He was among the first, if not the first, physician to open a sinus-only medical practice in the Midwest. Thousands of sinus sufferers found relief and a better quality of life under his care, including those patients who, despite the best effort of other physicians, had failed to find relief.
