Scots will be able to hop on a new EasyJet route in November when the budget airline launches its flights to Derry.
From November 4, EasyJet is launching flights to the City of Derry Airport for the first time. Not only is Derry a new destination for Scottish fliers, the city is a brand new destination on the easyJet network.
The route will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays this winter, with fares starting from £17.99. Derry is the latest destination for Edinburgh easyJet flyers, following in the steps of Rovaniemi, Hurghada, Antalya, Santorini, Catania and Agadir in the last year.
Derry is the second largest city in Northern Ireland and home to the country’s only completely intact historic Walled City, Derry Girls, award-winning museums and plenty to explore where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are delighted to be announcing a new route from Edinburgh, to City of Derry, a brand new destination for easyJet, which will appeal to leisure and business customers alike.
Viral £11.99 hand luggage bag saves on airline fees
A viral hand luggage bag that allows you to save money on extra airline fees has gone down a storm with travellers.
The Narwey 20 Litre Cabin Bag is a foldable travel bag that fits into the strict Ryanair guidelines for hand luggage. It measures 40cm by 40cm by 25cm, and is 20 litres deep.
Daily Record Trends Writer Nicola Roy recently tested out the viral bag on a Ryanair flight to Porto – and said it was a “better option than a suitcase”.
“And after hearing rave reviews of the £11.99 Amazon Narway Cabin Bag, and how much could fit, I thought it was time to give it a go and see if it would suffice for a four-day trip so that I didn’t have to fork out for extra luggage allowance,” she said.
“As I started packing, I actually found it incredibly easy to fit everything in. The bag seemed to expand with each piece of clothing. By the time I had fit everything in, the bag was able to zip up with ease, and didn’t even feel too heavy.”
