Mentor Public Library is launching a new book club for kids that celebrates classic children’s books and the movies they’ve inspired.
The first meeting of the Book-to-Movie Book Club is at 4 p.m. Aug. 5 at the library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave. For the inaugural get-together, they’ll read part of Jeff Kinney’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” watch a snippet of its film, and enjoy activities inspired by the book, according to a news release.
The club is free to join and open to all kids, aged 8 to 12. However, due to limited space, registration is required, by signing up at www.mentorpl.org or by calling the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 3.
