New book features a decade of Eliza Blue’s rural life column

This interview originally aired on “In the Moment” on SDPB Radio.

Eliza Blue is the host of PBS’s “Wish You Were Here,” the author of “Accidental Rancher,” a local folk musician and writer of the weekly newspaper column “Little Pasture on the Prairie.” The column has a companion podcast, which she hosts.

Through her words, Blue invites readers onto her western South Dakota ranch and shares snapshots of rural life.

Her new book “Little Pasture on the Prairie” curates her columns from the past 10 years.

Blue joins “In the Moment” to discuss common themes throughout the column and play live in the SDPB studio. She performs “Living Like a River,” as well as “Overture” from her in-progress folk opera, “The Grass Widow.”
