JAKARTA – The latest generation Porsche Panamera or third generation was introduced globally at the end of last year. The top ranks of this model will soon be launched but before that Porsche recently tested it on the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, Germany.
The results of the top-level testing of this model also impressed both ICE and hybrid machines with the fastest record on Germany’s Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit with a record time of 7:24.17 or 5.64 seconds faster than the previous generation.
Porsche Driver Factory Lars Kern, said that the latest Panamera has made significant progress, especially in going through various bends, making the control of this sedan more agile.
“The new Porsche Active Ride chassis has made a very large contribution. The car remains parallel to the road around the clock. It bends and its body stability is at a completely new level,” said Kern on the brand’s official website, Tuesday, July 16.
Even more impressive, this premium-style car is recorded as faster than a number of supercar cars, such as Maserati MC12 with 7:24.29, Pagani Zonda F Clubsport which recorded 7:24.65, and Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 7:25.00.
In order to support its performance, Porsche gave this latest Panamera with a Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 275/35 ZR 21 tires up front and 325/30 ZR 21 on the back specifically designed for this model.
Not only that, this car is given an optional Carbon Aerokit package that plays a role in removing the lift on the front double. Combined with Gurney’s cover on an adaptive 4-way back spoiler, the final result is maximum downforce.
“Powertrain, aerodynamics, chassis, new ultra high-performance tires from Michelin many aspects contribute to this best moment,” the impression of Kern.
Porsche deployed the Panamera variant of the Turbo E-Hybrid or the highest in its ranks. This car is equipped with a 4.0 liter V8 turbo engine combined with an electric motor that pumps 680 ps of power and 930 Nm of torque.
Integrated with the dual-clutch eight-speed PDK transmission system, this car is capable of running from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.2 seconds by producing the highest speed of up to 315 km/hour.
In addition, this third-generation Panamera also has plug-in hybrid technology (PHEV) with a battery of 25.9 kWh which makes cars run up to a range of 91 km on pure electric power and is compatible with 11 kW of AC charging, so they can charge up to 2 hours 39 minutes of battery.
