Two decades after the 1992 New York Times Magazine’s cover story on the Rebbe, documentary photographer Marc Asnin, and journalist Dovid Zaklikowski began to work on a photobook of those pictures and a retrospective on the Rebbe and the events the photographs told.
In over 380 pages, and 280 photos, the photobook, the first of its kind, is a stunning historical document and tribute to the Rebbe and Chabad. It will be published by Redux in honor of the Rebbe’s 30th yahrtzeit.
Printed in one of the top photobook printing presses, the book contains reflections from the famous—Senator Joe Lieberman, Speaker Newt Gingrich, Congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman, NY Attorney General Robert Abrams, Curtis Sliwa, and Malcolm Hoenlein, to the homeless—Charlie Buttons, who tells for the first time his story with the Rebbe.
Several of those who spoke at length for the book, did so for the first time before they passed away, among them, Rabbi Yisroel Friedman, Rebbetzin Chave Hecht and Yisroel Francis.
The new book will be available at local Jewish bookstore, or can be pre-ordered now at a discount www.RebbeSchneerson.com.
