Faber has snapped up Can’t Get You Out of My Head: In Search of Kylie, a book about Kylie Minogue by the Penderyn Prize-winning writer Michael Cragg.
Dan Papps, director of popular music, acquired world all-languages rights, excluding the US, from Matthew Hamilton at the Hamilton Agency, and the book will be published in August 2026,
“With particular focus on her timeless music, Michael will visit the important landmarks in her journey, from that famous Australian cul-de-sac to the site of the south London studio where she first sang ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ and the Las Vegas resort in which she recently fulfilled her Showgirl ambitions,” the synopsis says. “Via a mix of brand new interviews, a dash of oral history and some playful music writing, his book will set her in a cultural and social context fit for a modern-day icon.”
Papps commented: “The combination of Kylie, one of the greatest pop stars, and Michael, one of our leading pop writers, is irresistible. I cannot think of a writer who will approach Kylie’s unique story with the same passion, respect and sense of fun and I am thrilled to welcome Michael as a Faber writer.”
