A new book, “The throne of Alalisan of Ilisan: Oba Obafuwa and Isokun royal controversy,” has been launched in Ogun State. In a statement, the author of the book, Mr Kehinde Onajobi, said the decision to write the book was his way of documenting the true story of Obafuwa who ruled Ilisan Remo, Ogun State for 14 years for posterity.
He hinged this on the fact that this had become expedient, to put the circumstances surrounding the ascension of the late Oba to the throne in proper perspective Onajobi, a historian and author of many books stressed that his position had been alluded to with the documentation of Isokun as a ruling house in Ilisan by the Ogun State government.
These, he said are evidential that the half-truths that Oba obafuwa “gate crashed’’ into being an Oba as clearly mischievous and baseless. The launch took place at Oba Obafuwa palace, Isokun quarter, Orita Merin, Ilisan Remo. Chairman of the occasion was Prince Olusoga Awobajo, assisted by Jomu of Ilisan, Chief Tobi Oduyale, while the Oba of Ilisan, Oba Michael Sonuga was royal father of the day.
