A popular Lancaster musician has unveiled her latest creative pursuit – a book of poems.
Alice Ashcroft’s debut book of poems is called ‘Break The Cycle.’
Alice, who is a popular local musical voice on Beyond Radio, released the acclaimed album ‘Falling or Rising’ in 2021, but has been on a hiatus from the scene recently after the birth of her first child.
Now, she returns with a poignant collection of poems that has captured the hearts of readers, propelling the book to the top ranks of Amazon’s contemporary art and poetry anthologies charts.
‘Break The Cycle’ offers a deeply moving commentary on the relentless pursuit of diagnoses, academic success, and self-acceptance, particularly resonating with neurodivergent individuals.
“This was something I wrote after a really hard few months. My instruments have been at my parents’ house since we needed our second bedroom as a nursery, so this was how I sat down to process the thoughts I was having,’’ said Alice.
‘’This book saved me, and it’s really scary putting it out into the world, but I’m so glad I have.”
‘’My transition from music to poetry demonstrates an unwavering commitment to creative expression and a dedication to sharing stories that resonate deeply with readers.’’
