Marlborough LitFest 2024: Kate Mosse among new lineup

Marlborough LitFest will be celebrating its 15th year in 2024, and 2024 is already looking to be one of the best events yet.

The festival will run from September 26-29, with fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s authors and free family activities all weekend.

The current lineup already announced for the 2024 festival includes award-winning Shakespearean actors and actresses, acclaimed journalists, bestselling authors, and TV broadcasters.

But now LitFest organisers can confirm that Kate Mosse, William Dalrymple and Eleanor Mills will also be joining the event with exclusive author talks.

Bookworms also have until Friday, June 28, to take to Marlborough LitFest’s website and explain their choice of favourite book, poem or play for a chance to win up to £300.

Although not everyone will recognise author Kate Mosse’s face, a lot of people will recognise her novels Labyrinth, Sepulchre and Citadel from the multimillion-selling Languedoc Trilogy.

Mosse is also the founder of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

The award-winning author will take to Marlborough LitFest on September 28 to give a preview of her fourth and concluding novel in The Joubert Family Chronicles, The Map of Bones, which is set to be published on October 10.

Bestselling author, historian and broadcaster William Dalrymple will be appearing in Marlborough on September 28 to discuss his new book The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World.

Drawing from a lifetime of scholarship, he will discuss how India transformed the culture and technology of its ancient world and impacted the world today.

The Sunday Times journalist and broadcaster Eleanor Mills’ book Much More to Come is a non-fiction empowering guide for midlife women which offers a blueprint for navigating the rollercoaster of what she calls women’s ‘Queenager years’.

The editorial director-turned-writer will be appearing at LitFest on Sunday, September 29.

But Mosse, Dalrymple and Mills are only three from a huge lineup of celebrities still to be announced, who are hoping to bring joy, excitement, discussion and great literature to Wiltshire this autumn.

The full programme will be available in late June with priority booking for Friends of LitFest from 1 July and general ticket sales from 11 July.
