Slipstreaming – In the West of Ireland, a new collection of poetry by Limerick poets John Liddy and Jim Burke, the original founders of The Stony Thursday Book, was recently published.
The collection recalls a cycling trip around West Clare, Galway, Connemara, and Inish Mór in 1972 by the then fledgling poets.
The duo chronicled their trip by writing a journal filled with swapped entries and, after 50 years, the poets reflect on that journey by writing new poems that explore the passage of time and the different stages of life, from childhood to old age.
