An Offaly man’s book has won Novel of the Year.
Tullamore’s Darragh McKeon’s ‘Remembrance Sunday,’ picked up the Kerry Group Award, which was announced at the Listowel’s Writers’ Week opening ceremony on Wednesday evening.
The book is described as a ‘powerful and deeply resonant novel about compassion, the legacy of violence and the weight of history, spanning contemporary New York as well as The Troubles in Northern Ireland.’
It follows the story of character Simon, as he reflects on the impact a bombing during the Troubles has on him in the present day.
