Prefer to take your reading on the go?Β
Bookworms have moved increasingly digital in recent years with audiobooks, e-readers and apps for personal tracking and clubs. Even βBooktok,β the TikTok hotspot for readers, has changed the publishing world significantly. Audiobook revenue also continues to grow, reaching $1.8 billion in the U.S. in 2022, according to Statista.Β
But even the most avid readers know not every book you open (or listen to) is a hit. If you use Amazon Primeβs audiobook service Audible and are regretting your recent purchase, hereβs what to know.
How to return a book on Audible

Why canβt I return my book on Audible?
Your difficulty making a return could be for one of several reasons. Audible does not refund titles purchased with a credit card, a policy it implemented in October 2022.Β
You must be an Audible Premium Plus member to make a return. Audible offers two membership plans: Premium Plus, which costs $14.95 per month, and Audible Plus at $7.95 per month.
You also must meet these eligibility requirements:
- Purchased the book with credits
- Return made within 365 days of purchasing
- Have an account in good standingΒ
Just make sure to play by the rules β Audible warns it has the power to βmonitor returns for any abuse, such as excessive returns, frequent return of titles after prolonged listening, or returns of multiple titles at a time.β
