National World has announced the launch of a new podcast called Booky.

National World says Booky, the ‘friendly, literary snob-free’ books and
writing podcast is available across all providers. Hosted and produced by
Nicola Adam, Booky is edited by producer Kelly Crichton.
Each week, Nicola chats to a different author about their journey to
publication, the highs and the lows of their career and asks for tips for
other writers trying to get on the publishing ladder. Each pod also includes
a news, events and opportunities section for writers and book- lovers, added
the publisher.
Authors lined up for the first series from across the UK include Times
romantic fiction author Milly Johnson, political speech writer turned
children and YA writer Joanna Nadin, crime and thriller writer Will Carver,
‘Northerners’ author (and former Telegraph/FT writer) Brian Groom, author of
‘Behind her eyes’ author (turned into a Netflix series) Sarah Pinborough, rom
com writer Danielle Owen Jones, author Dorothy Koomson, women’s fiction
author Katie Fforde and Scottish cosy fiction writer Julie Shackman.
National World says the podcast is being promoted across its network of
websites and social accounts and is also available in video format on Daily
Motion and as a series on National World’s Freeview TV channel Shots.
Booky builds on National World’s strategy to build on the knowledge,
passions and skills of its journalists to create great content in all
formats, the publisher continued. Nicola is a former radio presenter (BBC
Radio Lancashire) and is a book lover and writer.

books and writing, and my guests have been extremely generous in sharing
their ups and downs as well as some very wise advice to the many out there
trying to make it as a writer. It allows us to access new audiences in
different ways and away from our news agenda. The authors share ups and
downs including their rejections and low points along the way and the result
is hugely inspiring – as well as informative.”
