FEATURED | A number of FREE activities are available to book for children across Herefordshire during the summer holidays

Herefordshire children receiving free school meals can enjoy a wide range of activities during the summer holidays.

Herefordshire Council’s summer children’s activities programme is open for bookings from today (Wednesday 26 June).

Parents of children (from reception to year 11) who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals can now book up to 20 sessions (approximately 64 hours) of free activities for their child from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 18 August.

Children will be able to try out new and exciting activities, from trampolining to horse riding, cheerleading, circus school and parkour, with lots more to choose from.

The project encourages children to have fun while making new friends, and every child that attends will be offered a free healthy meal.

Eligible families can book their places through the holiday activities page on the Talk Community Directory website.

More information:

Our programme is free for all school aged children (reception to Year 11), who are eligible for benefit related free school meals.

There’s a fantastic range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities to choose from.

There will also be a healthy meal on offer at every session attended, so no need to bring a packed lunch.

If your child is school aged 5 to 16 (reception to Year 11) and eligible for benefit related free school meals, they’ll be able to attend our different activities.  If you are not sure, please contact your child’s school to check.

You can book up to 4 activity sessions per child over the Easter & Christmas holidays and up to 20 activity sessions (approximately 64 hours) in the summer holidays, including specific provision for children with disabilities or additional needs (please discuss your child’s needs and requirements directly with the activity provider).

It’s the perfect opportunity to try a selection of new activities, such as dance, crafts, martial arts and more!
