Lionel Ward, owner of Brendon Books in Bath Place for the last 35 years, and organiser of the Taunton Literary Festival, will release Roman Holiday on April 23.
The narrative follows the adventures of characters Elliot and Cameron in Rome after the death of a Shakespeare expert named Harry Nielsen.
Roman Holiday is Mr Ward’s second book of fiction and follows on from the Shakespeare Thief, which was republished this year.
Giving testament to his literary prowess, author Tim Pears said: “A real page-turner, a murder mystery, with Shakespearean echoes, set in the world of books – what more could a reader ask for?”.
The book launch for Roman Holiday, due to start at 7.00pm, involves the author doing a talk and a book-signing session.
Tickets plus a copy of the book for signing is priced at £9.99.
Though entry to the talk is complimentary, booking in advance is needed.
You can secure a spot by reaching out to Brendon Books in Taunton via telephone or email, or through visiting its website.
