Tim Olsen is organising a unique book festival in Knutsford on Saturday, April 9 and hopes it will become an annual event.
A BBC broadcaster, comic publisher, children’s writer and crime fiction author have already signed up.
“I think it’s going to be fun,” said Tim, who runs the Oxfam bookshop on Princess Street.
“I wanted it to be local. Up and coming writers don’t often have the chance to talk to people and share ideas.
“I’ve had a great response back from all types of writers. People who might be your next door neighbours.
“I want to give local authors a voice.”

Admission to the festival at the Methodist Church hall in Princess Street on Saturday, April 9 will be free and there will be guest speakers.
Around 16 authors are expected and books will be on sale.
Broadcaster, author and musician Mark Radcliffe, 63, who lives in Knutsford, will be talking about his career.
The current BBC Radio 2 and 6 music DJ has published titles including Showbusiness, Northern Sky, Thank You For The Days, Reelin’ In The Years and Crossroads.

The books are based on different strands of music and document the tracks and artists that have provided the soundtrack to his life.
After performing with various groups he is now a member of the electronic band Une and the American seven-piece FineLines.
Mark is a highly valued volunteer at the Oxfam outlet, where he shares his retail and backroom skills.
Brian Clarke, who has been involved in comics as a writer, editor, managing editor and editorial director for more than 30 years, will also be taking part.
He has worked extensively on licensed publications featuring Warner Bros, DC Comics and Coronation Street.
Brian has several freelance writing projects on the go but is most passionate about his Mancunian Comic.

Passionate author Tim said: “I wanted to write since I was five and have been a writer all my life.
“I wrote all the background and history for games.
“I’ve always loved books. It’s going to be a great day.”
All proceeds will go to charity.
