The Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival will hold two summer fundraisers: The Psychology of Taylor Swift, June 24,  and a  Young Writers Workshop, July 19. Both fundraisers will support the 2025 Northwest  Ohio Teen Book Festival.

The Psychology of Taylor Swift

The Psychology of Taylor Swift event will take place on Monday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at Rossford Junior/Senior High School, 701 Superior St., Rossford. People sing along to Taylor Swift’s song lyrics, but what do the lyrics tell us about friendship, revenge, love….and death?

At this event, Dr. Shannon Holleran will guide participants through  current psychological research and connect Taylor Swift lyrics to these  concepts.

Participants will also have an opportunity to make a  friendship bracelet and analyze song lyrics themselves.

Young Writers Workshop

The Young Writers Workshop is on Friday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Way Public Library, 101 E Indiana Ave., Perrysburg. Learn about the writing craft from published authors, including E.M. Anderson and Mo Netz.

The writing workshop will feature a variety of activities including hands-on writing  practice, elements of story construction, and advice from published authors.

The workshop is ideal for writers in middle and high school. Snacks and lunch will provided.
“We have been working hard to create these fantastic events and to  organize another great book festival for area teens and Young Adult  readers,“ said Denise Phillips, Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival  committee member.
